Story of the week

my mate emma and her boyfriend lewis were having a pie in a sydney pie shop at about 4am on friday night pissed up. lewis was being cheeky so emma jokingly shoved his hand which was holding a pie into his face-unfortunately the boiling pie filling exploded onto his face leaving him rather unhappy at the time although i hope he saw the funny side as apparently on saturday morning he had burn marks on his face-certainly makes a good story "how did you get those burns?" "ah my girlfreind shoved a pie into my face" Gold

It's a Jolly Holiday Innit

So I went on holiday from my holiday in Australia. How greedy am I!
One of the incentives was the supercheap flights. The lack of meals and comfort stuff is a bit of a pain in the arse though.

Sunset above the clouds
Then we reached Phuket. It seemed to be populated with European rich families. Needless to say we stuck out a bit. The beaches were amazing...

...and the food even better. Thai food in Australia is amazing but the super freshness of propher thai food knocks your socks off. It helps that it costs like five quid for a feast too

Washed down with cheaper than chips beer and cocktails we were onto a winner (although our stomachs and liver weren't thanking us)

The beaches on the island were bloody good but they were mere prawn crackers with the phi phi islands coming up...

The beach were they filmed the beach has to be hands down the nicest beach i've ever seen. Shame there was so many bloody tourists there.

The snorkeling was almost to good to be true-crystal clear water with a huge variety of tropical fish inches from your nose. You can see some green fish in the pic if you look closely. Snorkeling off the boat I was a bit of a maud and wore a life jacket but later off the beach i gained confidence and realised how easy it was. Saw some great underwater sights like a fish that glowed red and one that made clouds of dust by diving into the ocean bed.

We also visited "monkey beach" where the little critters would get their legs damp to get bananas off the tourists. This would begin our foray into seeing the exploitation of animals for tourism (we also saw elephants, snakes, lizards etc. This should be another post with a title like (Asia: Theatre of Cruelty)

Fully rested, well fed and burnt from the beach we headed for Bangkok to sample some Thai city life...
